X ( or Twitter )

Okay. After a bit of trial and error, I finally got the X app to work. Sort off. Apparently it is a bit temperamental and sometimes connects and sometimes does not. In the end I tried enabling it by using a different browser to access my websites blogging software control panel.

I get the impression it has a lot to do with the Application Programme Interface between X and the plugin. Most of the time it would not connect and apparently at the moment only allows 1 update per week.

Luckily I do not really plan on using it much ….. If at all.

Trip to the City

For some reason I got it into my head that today was Black Friday. It isn’t. That’s next week. Though an awful lot of shops seem to have started the sale early.

Anyway, I went into the city today to have a look around and see the Christmas Market ( set up in the local Cathedral grounds ) that has just opened. As well as the Winter Wonderland, set up in a local park.

While the Christmas Market is nice with lots of stalls, music playing, festive atmosphere etc, most are selling food and drink ( the alcoholic kind ) as well as some stalls selling Christmas novelties and decorations, it can be a bit pricey.

Though it does have a couple of large covered seated areas where you can eat and have a drink.

The Winter Wonderland is basically a Fun Fair with a few rides, a Santa’s Grotto and a temporary Ice Rink. Which all looks kind of fun but does not open till about 2.30pm.

Site Update 001

I finally got the website up and running, though there were a few problems with plug-ins. Specifically the X ( or Twitter ) plug-in.

Apparently X has changed the way external websites can access X feeds, limiting the number of calls that can be made. I apparently exceeded my daily allowance just by installing the plugin ….. Or something like that.

I am going to try again with that plugin later.

Everything else seems to be working OK at the moment. I even managed to put up some permanent Pages at the top of the website and am now going through all the options available in the blogging software.
